Stanmore terrace

Classic Stanmore elegance in soft grey-blue — a classic A4 watercolour portrait that captures the terrace’s distinctive charm and character.

Camperdown cottage

Traditional Camperdown cottage charm in statement sized A3 — expressing through watercolour the bold roofline and accents, soft creamy-green walls, and the little front porch details with warmth and care.

Imagine holding in your hands…

…in luminous watercolour and ink, the front door you walk through every day, the window that lets in the best afternoon light, the little details you love (and even the letterbox you’ve been meaning to replace).

It’s a hand-painted home portrait that radiates the warmth and wonder that’s deeply familiar – the kind of “ohhh” moment you get because you know the home so well.

This isn’t just art.

It’s your feeling of home right there in your hands.

Marrickville bungalow

Post-war bungalow in Marrickville  — capturing the red tiled roof, soft grey walls, and decorative windows with quiet beauty in a way that only A4 watercolour can.

Tamworth Farmhouse

Capturing the corrugated iron roof, weathered boards, and the lean-to at the side.

Art with soul, made the slow way

No AI.
No shortcuts.
No mass production.
Just real paint, real paper, and a real artists hand (mine) at work.

I paint each portrait on the same top-shelf archival paper used by Van Gogh and Matisse – the good stuff! So your portrait holds its colour and its soul for years (and generations) to come.

Farmhouse, Tamworth

Camperdown weatherboard cottage

This weatherboard cottage is all soft yellow light and stained glass details – the kind of home that feels happy before you even step inside.

Tamworth Farmhouse

With a blooming jacaranda and wide open deck where the family sprawls together for Sunday arvo BBQs — each detail is rendered with warmth, turning everyday life into something enduring.

A custom home portrait is perfect when you’re…

  • …Honouring a family home that holds deep meaning
  • …Capturing a moment in time before everything changes
  • …Moving house and want to take the memories with you
  • …Celebrating a renovation or a forever home
  • …Surrounding yourself with art that means something – bespoke and personal
  • …or simply because you adore where you live
You don’t need a special occasion — just a home you love.

My calling is homes

Hi, I’m Sally.

I’m a Stanmore artist obsessed with painting the character-packed homes that make our Inner West so unmistakably ours.

I love slowing down and noticing the little details — delicate lacework hidden behind trees, decorative touches on windows, and bright red mailboxes.

I paint grand terraces, cosy cottages, and modern homes — each brimming with character in their own way.

Discovering the little details that tell their stories? It’s my version of blowing bubbles and watching them drift through the sunlight.

No photo wrangling required

You don’t have to play photographer.

I’ll take the photos myself, finding the best light, angles, and charm while you relax knowing the painted portrait will look just right (and even better than you imagined).

Frame it or not.
The choice is yours

Order a home portrait framed and ready to hang, or if you prefer to frame it yourself, I’ll happily point you to an IKEA frame that looks like it costs more than it does.

Zero stress. All the joy.

Commissioning a custom home portrait should feel joyful – not like doing paperwork.

You choose the size of the painting and whether you’d like it framed or not — that’s it. I handle everything else. From snapping the photos to handing you the finished portrait. A beautiful, meaningful piece that captures the character and memories of your home. Ready to hang and enjoy for years to come.

Here’s how I make it easy…

The process is simple…

  1. Get in touch using the button below – just enter your name and email and I’ll do the rest.
  2. We’ll have a 15 min phone call to talk about your home and what you’d like captured.
  3. Choose the size and framed/unframed.
  4. Make payment.

Then I get painting and deliver your portrait 2 – 3 weeks later.

Final note from me

Every portrait I paint is made with patience, love, and respect for the stories inside those walls. When you unwrap it, you’ll know – that quiet pause, that hand over the heart. That’s the moment I paint for. And you’ll adore.
